Cirle

Tiny eye care-related medical technology incubator Cirle has hooked up with a gigantic partner, Bausch + Lomb. Cirle, formed in 2010 by Bascom Palmer Eye Institute’s director of technology transfer, aims to turn medical discoveries from the hospital into treatments. Bausch + Lomb hopes to commercialize the treatments Cirle develops. “We can explore and develop new therapies and technology and advance those to a stage where Bausch + Lomb can come in … and commercialize it,” says Richard Awdeh, Cirle’s founder and CEO, who is also an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Bausch + Lomb was attracted to Cirle because of its partnership with Bascom Palmer.
