Sloan's

Sloan Kamenstein, a London Le Cordon Bleu-educated chef, opened his first Sloan’s, an over-the-top ice cream shop, in 1999. Since then, it’s grown to four stores in south Florida, known for plush toys along the pink walls and decadent desserts. Two scoops run about $5, and the average ticket is $10. Stores generate from $2 million to $5 million in annual revenue. The company recently began selling franchises and expects the first franchised locations to open this year in southern California and in Miami-Dade, says David Wild, director of franchising.
