From the 146-seat screening room to the stainless-steel kitchen appliances to the custom-made conference table, Digital Domain Media Group seemed to spare few expenses at its headquarters and animation studio.

An auctioneer appointed by a bankruptcy judge opened the building today in advance of Wednesday’s auction of the company’s electronics and furniture.

“Such extravagance,” said Mark Thomas, a Port St. Lucie accountant who hunted for bargains on office furniture.
