COSTA RICA
Lorena Sanchez Urpi
Consul General, Miami

“Trade is dynamic now but could be increased more, making more competitive rates in the services of air and sea transport in both directions, providing incentives so that Costa Rican companies open operations in Florida through initiatives such as the creation of centers or places for the distribution and display of products. The cost to establish a company here is more expensive than in Costa Rica — rent, salaries, cost of living. We believe that it is relatively easy to do business in Florida by the commercial dynamism, the language — most people speak Spanish and a lot of Costa Ricans speak English — and logistical facilities.”
