There is a lot of weight on Amy Thompson's shoulders.

Once each week, the 26-year-old Thompson leaves her post as a bagger at the Silver Springs Boulevard Goodwill Industries-Suncoast store and preps the store's new hot dog stand by the facility's entrance.

She methodically counts out the Nathan, quarter-pound hot dogs and slides them into steaming water, organizes condiments and sanitizes the cart.

The business is small, but the responsibilities are large for the fledgling business, and the developmentally challenged clients who have run the operation since May.
