Corey Leff has created it — spendLO.com debuted in South Florida just four months ago. Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties have been the test market for the local services website, and Leff considers it a successful first phase, as spendLO.com landed more than $200,000 in service contracts so far.

Fingerprinting of job applicants skyrockets

fingerprintsIn 2000 about 6.6 million sets of fingerprints were sent to the FBI for vetting, said Chris Brown, an executive with MorphoTrust, which operates 1,200 enrollment centers, including six in metro Orlando, where employers send job applicants for screening. Today the number of prints sent to the FBI is more than 25 million, Brown said.
