Co-founding partner Elizabeth Krystyn says her insurance brokerage firm Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners recruits a lot of its talent from FSU’s Risk Management and Insurance Program — one of only two in the Southeast. “If you fancy yourself an insurance geek, it’s a tremendous opportunity. If you want a status-quo career, this is not the career for you.”

Employees enjoy an onsite fitness center, a free gym membership and free healthy snacks, including a Friday “oatmeal bar.” The company offers three medical plans as well as life insurance, dental and vision coverage.

Matt Kashdin, a 2010 graduate of the Risk Management and Insurance program, says he enjoys the energy that comes with working at a company where the average age is under 35. Camille Zutes, also a graduate of Florida State’s program, says she appreciates the potential for advancement. Since joining the firm in 2011, the 24-year-old has moved up from being a risk analyst to a senior risk analyst to commercial account manager for large businesses.
