American Remodeling Inc., based in Dallas and the largest direct marketer of home improvement products in North America, opened a telemarketing center in Palm Bay last month. The center employs about 200 part-time and 15 full-time workers.

Compaq Computer Corp. made an equity investment in Intellon Corp., a privately held supplier of communications technology based in Ocala. Compaq is the first personal computer manufacturer to invest in Intellon's in-home networking technology. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Orlando's Visteon Corp., a provider of health-care software for medical groups, plans to add 28 technical and field support personnel by the end of this year. The company also plans to move into 9,000 square feet in Maitland's Lucien Green Building.

Century III at Universal Studios in Orlando was selected by BBK Productions of Burbank, Calif., to provide film-to-tape transfer, non-linear editing and audio production for its new two-hour movie of the week called "Bermuda Triangle." The made-for-TV movie will air on the ABC television network.

Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group plans a 1.1 million-square-foot mall in the Waterford Lakes development on Orlando's east side. The proposed mall would house Parisian, Burdines, Dillard's and Sears, among others. Regal Cinemas plans to have an 80,000-square-foot theater and entertainment center at the mall. Construction is scheduled for 1997.

Central Florida Pipeline Co. of Tampa has begun drilling under seven bodies of water in Hillsborough, Polk and Osceola counties to lay a new 16-inch refined petroleum products pipeline from Tampa to Orlando. The current pipeline system provides more than 90% of the petroleum products used in Central Florida, but additional capacity is required to meet the area's growing needs.
