Congressional Holdings

At least eight members of Florida's congressional delegation are millionaires, according to a Florida Trend analysis, and several more are within reach of seven-digit fortunes. Financial disclosure information for Rep. Katherine Harris (R-District 13), who filed for an extension, was not available by publishing deadline. (UPDATE BELOW)

The net worth figures represent as close an approximation as possible based on information contained in public records. Estimated net worth ranges were calculated by adding the value of lawmakers' homes to the total of other assets listed in each politician's federally mandated financial disclosure forms and subtracting their liabilities. Home values are based on the latest sales figures, if recently purchased, "just market" value in some instances or 2004 taxable values if no other estimates were available. All homes are in Florida, unless otherwise noted. Lawmakers are ranked from the wealthiest to the poorest, according to their minimum net worth. The tally includes assets held by spouses and dependent children.

UPDATE - Rep. Katherine Harris was not included in the print version of this feature because she filed for an extension, and her financial records were not available in time for print publication. This online version includes Harris' net worth.
