BBG, Miami

BBG, a leading national commercial real estate valuation, advisory and assessment firm, today announced that it has appointed two real estate industry veterans to Managing Director of the firm's new offices in Miami and Tampa, Fla., which opened this month. The Florida offices bring BBG's total number of offices to 24 nationwide. BBG appointed Eric Hoening, MAI, to serve as Managing Director of the Tampa office, and Lee R. Smalley, MAI, as Managing Director of the Miami office. Both Hoening and Smalley will focus on growth and development of their respective offices including new client acquisition, client and staff management, and maintaining and cultivating the company's culture.

Shrimp Basket Restaurants announced it has named Kim Moehler its Chief Financial Officer. Moehler most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer of Office Depot, Inc. The Florida Sports Foundation welcomes Angela Adams Suggs as its new President and Senior Vice President of Sports Development for Enterprise Florida beginning August 7. She brings a wealth of experience and an excitement to lead the Tallahassee-based Florida Sports Foundation as it continues working to support Florida’s $57 billion sports industry.

The Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve Peter Antonacci as the new President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. Antonacci will also serve as Florida’s Secretary of Commerce. Gov. Scott said, “Pete has a long record of success and has demonstrated an incredible commitment to helping make our state the best place for families and job creators."

Brown & Brown, Inc. today announced the appointment of Vaughn Stoll to the senior leadership team for the company. Mr. Stoll has been a teammate at Brown & Brown for eight years. He serves as Director of Acquisitions and Internal Operations and is also a Senior Vice President for the Company. He is based in Brown & Brown’s corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville

Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville has selected Bradley S. Talbert, FACHE, to be the hospital’s new President and CEO. Talbert will assume his duties at Memorial Hospital on August 1. He comes to Memorial Hospital from Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC, where he was also CEO. Talbert brings more than 17 years of hospital executive leadership and management experience to Memorial.

United Way of Miami-Dade, Miami

United Way of Miami-Dade has named Maria C. Alonso as its new president and CEO. Alonso, a banking professional and civic leader, will start in August. “Maria has proven herself a tireless champion for all of United Way’s diverse stakeholders: the programs we fund, the services we operate, the donors we depend upon, and – most importantly – the children and seniors and families whose lives are made better through the organization’s work,” said Carlos A. Migoya, current board chair.

Anchor Glass Container Corporation has named Nipesh Shah to be CEO. Shah will succeed Jim Fredlake who is retiring. The appointment is effective July 24. Mr. Shah will assume responsibility for the ongoing operations of Anchor Glass and will join the Board of Directors.

WellCare Health Plans, Tampa

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. announced it has named Dr. Mark Leenay to the role of senior vice president and chief medical officer. In this new role, he is joining the company's executive leadership team.

United Way of Miami-Dade’s trustees have elected Carlos A. Migoya, president and CEO of Jackson Health System, to serve as board chair. Migoya will spearhead the board comprised of business and community leaders who are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of United Way.

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Tallahassee

Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam announced that Dr. Martha Rhodes Roberts has been named the 2017 Woman of the Year in Agriculture. Dr. Roberts dedicated 35 years of service to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, where she championed policy changes for the advancement of Florida's agriculture industry, trade and production practices.

Hilton Software LLC, Coral Springs

Dr. Hilton Goldstein, CEO of Hilton Software, won the 2017 Gold Stevie Award as Executive of the Year, Aerospace and Defense. Judges' comments included: "Dr. Goldstein has delivered innovation and solid performance to transform the market." Hilton Software develops multi-platform mobile navigation applications for general aviation and military operations.

Gunster has added Greg Black to its statewide government affairs law & lobbying practice. He joins the firm with an extensive background advocating for a wide range of clients in the financial, insurance, health care, biomedical research, pharmaceutical, and technology industries. MDO Partners, Miami

MDO Partners announces the election of Managing Partner Richard Montes de Oca to the Executive Council of the Florida Bar International Law Section. The council appointment is a recognition of Mr. Montes de Oca's leadership in the International Law community.
