Construction of everything from roads to homes involves limestone and sand. Many of these ingredients of cement are mined here in Florida and is one of the state’s key industries.

Take a look at Vulcan’s pit in Tampa, and Rinker’s and White Rock Quarries’ mines in the Lake Belt near Miami.
