BioTraits, a biometric technology company based at UCF’s Technology
Incubator, has developed an I-Guard Finger Scanner system that prevents employees from punching the time clock for their friends. Organizers used the
technology to track participants in the inaugural Fireball Run Transcontinental Rally, a 3,500-mile, nine-day race from Orlando to Los Angeles to raise awareness for the Child Rescue Network.

With the crack of two bottles of champagne and the blessing from a local priest, Florida’s newest research vessel, the R/V W.T. Hogarth, was christened and launched for the first-time this week. The W.T. Hogarth will be used by the University of South Florida as well as more than two dozen institutions across the state.
