» Individual giving in Florida totaled $9,481,940 in 2004, fourth in the nation, according to IRS statistics on itemized charitable deductions. The average charitable contribution per itemizer in Florida was $3,675, 17th in the nation.

» The average charitable contribution per return for Floridians — both itemizers and non-itemizers — was $1,160 in 2004, up 41.4% from 1998.
» Florida foundations gave more than $1 billion in 2005, the ninth-highest level of giving nationwide.
» Florida’s 3,739 foundations in 2005 had assets of more than $16.9 billion.
