» Harry W. Orf, vice president for scientific operations at Scripps Florida, is stepping down in February to become senior vice president for research at Massachusetts General Hospital.

» Scott M. Sanderson, a veteran of investment banking and management consulting, primarily in the energy industry, joined Farlie Turner & Co. in Fort Lauderdale as a managing director. Sanderson formerly was with Goldsmith Agio Helms.

» Boca Raton-based Office Depot named Steve Schmidt president of its international unit. Schmidt previously was executive vice president for corporate strategy and new business development.
