Video: Rays Ask to Rethink Downtown

Watch a virtual tour of the new waterfront stadium proposed by the Tampa Bay Rays. It looks good but will it come to pass in the current economic climate?

Tampa Bay Rays officials announced plans for a new waterfront stadium in November. They say it can be financed without any new taxes or diverting existing tax dollars by redeveloping the current site of Tropicana Field into a mix-use development. However, the plan must be approved by St. Petersburg taxpayers and has been criticized in the press.
