» The National Audubon Society presented its 2008 Callison Award to Eric Draper, deputy director of policy for Audubon of Florida.

» Attorney General Bill McCollum has launched a “most wanted” website (myfloridalegal.com/mostwanted) featuring suspects and convicted criminals wanted on serious charges, including drug trafficking, cybercrime, organized criminal activity, racketeering and failing to appear for sentencing after conviction or plea agreement.

» Howard M. “Budd” Post, one of the founders of the Tampa-based engineering, science and architecture consulting company Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan (PBS&J) died June 10 at age 83. Started in 1960, PBS&J is now the 29th-largest engineering company in the country.
