» Florida Power & Light President Armando Olivera will retire in May. Eric Silagy, FPL's senior vice president of regulatory and state government affairs, will replace him.
» Florida Atlantic University chose David J. Bjorkman dean of its new Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Bjorkman had been dean of the University of Utah School of Medicine since 2004.
» The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority appointed Raphael Clemente executive director, succeeding Melissa Wohlust, who resigned after a lengthy medical leave. Clemente had served as interim director of the special taxing district for more than a year and has been with the authority since 2006.
» Fort Lauderdale law firm Becker & Poliakoff named Gary Rosen managing partner, succeeding founding partner Alan Becker.
