Spencer Fabrications, a small specialty metalwork company in Lake County that works out of a 22,000-sq.-ft. facility in Tavares, has built everything from Lynx bus stop shelters in Orlando to custom lighting, kiosks and other metal public-space structures. It's done metalwork at Walt Disney World and Yankee Stadium. The Spencer family business, founded in 1994, more recently did the work on RubeStation, a prototype electric-vehicle charging station for WattNext, a Lake County startup named one of the
2011 winners of Metro Orlando EDC's William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award.
