» Harrison Schmitt and Guy Boy have joined the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola as senior research scientists. Schmitt is a former jet and helicopter pilot and was lunar module pilot for the Apollo 17 mission to the moon. Boy was founder and president of the European Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Engineering in France.

» John Grosskopf has been named president of North Florida Community College in Madison, succeeding Morris Steen Jr., who retired in July. Grosskopf joined the college faculty in 2001 as an English instructor and has served as vice president of academic affairs and acting president.
» Roberta Ramsey has been hired as convention and corporate sales manager for the Pensacola Bay Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
