"With community service we do some unique things. Encouraging employees to be something bigger than themselves energizes them. We helped build a hospice house. We helped the American Heart Association, Boys and Girls Town. I try to put time and dollars into something they're passionate about. We have an interesting program called LEAN — lifestyle, exercise, accountability and nutrition. The firm will subsidize 50% of their workout program. We provide financial incentives if they maintain a healthy weight. I'm on the board of the Orlando ballet. I'll get tickets and everyone can take someone. ... We have flextime and job sharing, telecommuting, maternity and paternity leave. Even in a bad economy, you can give the gift of time."
