Buell G. Duncan Jr.
Buell G. Duncan Jr. played a key role in some of the biggest business deals in central Florida throughout his distinguished banking career.

He was instrumental in luring Disney and in helping to piece together a $50-million financing deal in the 1970s to build the main terminal at Orlando International Airport. He was president of the Orlando Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, the Florida Council of 100 and the Federal Reserve Bank of Florida. He also served on UCF’s board of directors.

Duncan began his career as a teller and retired as CEO of SunTrust Banks of Florida in 1993. He died March 10 at age 81 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
