» Air Force Col. Sal Nodjomian has taken over as commander of the 96th Air Base Wing at Eglin Air Force Base. He previously served at the Pentagon as senior military assistant to an assistant secretary of the Air Force. His awards include the Bronze Star medal. He has a degree in civil engineering, plus five master’s degrees in arts and sciences.

» The Pensacola Bay Area Chamber of Commerce has hired James Hizer as CEO. Hizer, 49, formerly was president and CEO of the Bowling Green (Ky.) Area Chamber of Commerce, where he is credited with bringing in more than 4,000 jobs over his six-year tenure.
