» The board of directors of North Miami Beach-based Marquis Bank named Miriam Lopez president, chief lending officer and director. She was president and CEO of TransAtlantic Bank and CEO of the TransAtlantic Bank/Banco Sabadell Group. The bank also named banking consultant Bernardo Argudin executive vice president and CFO.

» Brightstar Corp. named Oscar Rojas president of its Latin American region. He had been corporate vice president of Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions for the Latin American region.

» The Latin Recording Academy promoted Gabriel Abaroa Jr., its president, to president and CEO.
