» Neal Wade has rejoined St. Joe Co. as senior vice president for economic development. He'll focus on commercial development next to the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Bay County. Wade had been director of the Alabama Development Office. He worked for St. Joe from 2000 to 2003.

» Florida State University has appointed Tom Jennings to a newly established position of vice president for university advancement. Jennings will oversee the FSU Alumni Association, FSU Foundation and Seminole Boosters. He was previously an assistant vice president in charge of fundraising at the University of Virginia.

» Lawrence G. Abele will step down as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Florida State University at the end of the fall semester. He'll devote full attention to the Institute for Academic Leadership, a statewide program for new academic administrators.

R/V W.T. Hogarth Christening Ceremony

With the crack of two bottles of champagne and the blessing from a local priest, Florida’s newest research vessel, the R/V W.T. Hogarth, was christened and launched for the first-time this week. The W.T. Hogarth will be used by the University of South Florida as well as more than two dozen institutions across the state.
