› Brevard County commissioners back deals to get out of golf course business
It looks like Brevard County's three golf courses will be out of the county's hands by October. County commissioners on Tuesday voted 4-1 to approve transferring The Savannahs golf course on Merritt Island to The Savannahs at Sykes Creek Homeowners' Association.

› Ringless voicemail: Florida breaks ground with new law
The phone never rings. But somehow you have a voicemail. It’s a business selling something, even though you’re on the Do Not Call list. Is that legal? Not in Florida as of July 1.

› Study: It costs $80,000 for a family of 4 to live modestly in Sarasota
Sarasota-Manatee ranks among the costliest places to live in Florida. A Sarasota family of two parents and two children can expect to pay $80,613 annually on basic costs in order to secure just an “adequate yet modest standard of living.” That same household in Manatee would fork over $77,800.

› Broward is getting a luxury movie theater with reclining pods and cocktails
iPic Entertainment is expanding farther into South Florida with plans for an eight-screen, 400-seat luxury movie theater along with a City Perch Kitchen + Bar and a rooftop bar and lounge in Fort Lauderdale.
