Citrus canker plaintiffs firms take case to Florida Supreme Court

Four South Florida law firms are challenging Gov. Rick Scott in the state's highest court over his decision to hold back $37 million from homeowners whose citrus trees were removed a decade ago. The case filed in the state Supreme Court on Tuesday, Toby Bogorff v. Rick Scott, SC17-1155, challenges the governor's line-item veto of 2017-18 state funds appropriated to reimburse for the destruction of trees in the state's citrus canker program. Trump's income growing from Florida businesses

President Donald Trump’s income is growing from his South Florida businesses, according to his latest financial disclosure filing. Trump’s combined income from his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach as well as his golf clubs in Jupiter, West Palm Beach and Doral has doubled since he won the presidency. [Source: CBS12]

Florida existing home sales surge

Florida's housing market reported more closed sales, higher median prices, more new listings and more pending sales in May, according to data released by Florida Realtors Wednesday. Sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 27,850 last month, up 7.6 percent compared to May 2016. More from Florida Realtors, here.
