State budget is in Gov. Scott’s hands now. What will he veto?

The clock has started for Gov. Rick Scott who has 15 days to decide whether to sign an $82.4 billion state budget — and just how much of it he wants to veto. Senate President Joe Negron, R-Stuart, on Wednesday sent the budget bill (SB 2500) to Scott, who faces a June 15 deadline to act on it. More from the Times/Herald and the AP.

Cases focus on workers' comp payment disputes

Ambulatory-surgical centers and a major player in the hospital industry are challenging a state proposal that could affect payment disputes in the workers' compensation insurance system. The Florida Society of Ambulatory Surgical Centers and two affiliates of the HCA hospital chain filed challenges last week against the state Division of Workers' Compensation. [Source: WJXT]
