Florida fails to pass workers' compensation reform

Florida businesses shouldn’t expect relief for workers’ compensation rates, this year at least. The Florida Legislature failed to pass legislation this session addressing 2016 decisions by the Florida Supreme Court that sent the state’s workers’ comp system into disarray. Jacksonville-based Fidelity National Financial announces sale of One Digital for $560 million

Fidelity National Financial (FNFV) has signed a definitive agreement to sell One Digital Health and Benefits for $560 million in an all-cash transaction. "We are excited to monetize One Digital at an attractive price for our shareholders and recognize a cash monetization of approximately $330 million," said FNFV Chairman William P. Foley, II. One Digital Health and Benefits is based in Atlanta, and calls itself "the nation’s largest employee benefits-only company." New Mountain Capital LLC acquired One Digital. More at the news release.

Florida Ag commissioner: 'No end in sight' for wildfires

Three schools canceled classes due to smoky conditions from a nearby wildfire as Florida's agriculture commissioner said the state is in the "midst of its worst wildfire season in years — with no end in sight." More from the AP.
