Both Adam Putnam and Gwen Graham to run for governor

On Monday, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam filed in Tallahassee to run for governor next year. Putnam, a 20-year office-holder, is the first major Republican to enter race. [Source: Sarasota Herald-Tribune].

Also running for governor: Democratic former congresswoman Gwen Graham announced her candidacy today, saying, "We do not have time for typical politics, because this is the time to paint Florida’s future in sharp lines, and bold colors." Florida leads large states in private-sector job growth

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that Florida tied for the fastest private-sector job growth rate of the 10 largest states in the nation. The Sunshine State tied with Georgia for its growth rate in private-sector jobs at 3.2 percent, and outpaced the nation's rate of 1.7 percent for the fifth consecutive year. Tampa Bay WaVE opens new location for business startups
