On Medicaid? You may soon have to work for it in Florida

Medicaid recipients in Florida could soon have to meet work requirements and pay a premium to stay in the government-funded health care program. Florida already has one of the most restrictive Medicaid programs in the nation. It is open only to adults with dependent children, pregnant women, low-income seniors and people with disabilities. Keep it secret: Florida may close college presidential searches

Florida legislators are considering whether to keep secret searches for university and college president. A House panel approved a bill Thursday that would keep confidential the name of anyone applying to become head of a college or university. See HB 351, here. Also read more at the AP.

Chinese activists flood Palm Beach for Trump-Jinping meeting

Scores of Chinese activists were in Palm Beach County as President Donald Trump began his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Palm Beach Thursday for the start of a summit to tackle topics ranging from trade disputes to North Korea security threats. No matter what SCOTUS does, the Georgia-Florida water war isn't over

Big farm operations in the rural southern end of Georgia have been allowed to drastically increase irrigation with no real limits. As a result, no matter what the high court decides to do with a special master's report siding with Georgia over Florida, the water war with neighboring states is not over. The137-page Special Master's report is by Ralph Lancaster Jr. of Pierce Atwood in Portland, Maine. By Lancaster's score, Georgia wins this battle by default, since Florida didn't sue the ultimate authority over water use, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Motorcycle deaths in Florida are up 30%

The latest data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that throughout the whole of 2015, Florida recorded an increase of 30% in crash fatalities when compared to the previous year. [Source: Motofire]
