Florida workers' comp bill, in draft stage, raises objections
Business and health-care groups raised objections to a draft House workers' compensation insurance bill that addresses issues such as attorney fees and payments for treating injured workers. The House Insurance & Banking Subcommittee opened hearings Tuesday on the draft of SB 1582. The draft represents a response to Florida Supreme Court rulings that struck down attorney fees and permanent disability benefits that began in 2003. Read more at the Orlando Sentinel.

Scott Adams made his name and fortune as founder of Hiway Technologies, an early web-hosting company that became the world’s largest a year before he sold in in 1998. Adams’ latest venture is EagleEye Intelligence, a company in Boca Raton that combines equipment such as drones with sensors, analytics and a proprietary software platform called Strax.
