Press Release

Enterprise Florida Trade Mission to South Africa

Fri, Feb 24, 2017 - Sat, Mar 4, 2017 -- Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, South Africa

| 2/23/2017

Enterprise Florida and its state-wide partners invite you to join the Florida Trade Mission to South Africa, February 24 – March 4, 2017. Mission participants will have pre-arranged business meetings, receive business intelligence briefings from the U.S. Embassy, meet local government and private sector leaders, as well as attend networking events at each scheduled destination.

According to the U.S. Commercial Service, South Africa is among the easiest markets in the world to enter for U.S. companies. The business language is English, the infrastructure is comparable to industrialized nations, and the banking and legal services are equal to any found in the world. As a member of the five-nation South African Customs Union, South Africa already offers immediate access to a market well beyond its own 55 million people. Additionally, the collaborative relationship with their East African neighbors represents an opportunity for open market access to 26 other countries with a combined GDP of over $900 Billion and a consumer base of over 550 million.

With the fastest growing middle class population in the world, the demand for U.S. products and services in Africa is outpacing the supply. Florida exporters are well positioned to gain from entry into the South African market. Our geographic location makes us the closest U.S. state to Africa and our superb international trade infrastructure and our business community’s experience and expertise, uniquely qualifies us as ideal trading partners with Africa.

Enterprise Florida will offer a limited number of Gold Key Matchmaking one-on-one appointments through the USCS for participating Florida companies. Small and mid-sized Florida manufacturers and professional service providers may qualify for a Gold Key Grant, which will offset the matchmaking registration fee for the first company representative.
