Voter Guide for Florida's Constitutional Amendments on November ballot

| 10/5/2016

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. --  Florida TaxWatch, the state’s premier nonpartisan, nonprofit taxpayer research institute and government watchdog, has always committed itself to educating and informing Florida voters on critical policy issues affecting them. As part of this critical mission, we have released the 2016 Voter Guide, featuring an in-depth analysis of the Amendments to help voters better understand the oft-confusing amendment language and allow them to make an informed decision on Election Day.

The Voter Guide provides information on what a yes or no vote means and analysis on the complex factors associated with the vote such as the role of subsidies with Amendment 1 and federal laws with Amendment 2.

"Since amendments placed on the ballot by citizens' initiative are limited to a 75-word description, Florida voters can sometimes be confused by what exactly their vote would mean" said Dominic M. Calabro, President and CEO of Florida TaxWatch. "The 2016 General Election Voter Guide gives voters an in-depth analysis of each amendment so that voters receive all of the necessary information to make an informed decision.”

“The Florida TaxWatch Voter Guide is an excellent resource for voters to learn about the four Amendments on the 2016 General Election ballot. Every Amendment is laid out in detail and allows voters to better understand each one,” said Florida TaxWatch Center for Florida Citizenship Chairman Governor Bob Martinez. “I encourage every Floridian to read this guide so that they make an informed decision on Election Day.”
