Despite pushback, Gov. Scott wants $85 million to lure jobs
Setting up another showdown with the Republican-controlled Legislature Florida Gov. Rick Scott wants $85 million he can use to lure companies to the Sunshine State. Scott is making the push for business incentives even though state legislators rejected a similar request for $250 million last year. Read the statement from the Governor, here. Invasive lionfish invades Gainesville menus
The invasive lionfish is invading Gainesville menus throughout October as part of a fundraiser for Reefsavers, a nonprofit organization trying to create a supply chain for restaurants as a way to remove the species from Florida waters. More from the Gainesville Sun.

Orlando to host ACC football championship game
Orlando is officially set to host the ACC football championship game Dec. 3. The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the move Thursday. The ACC recently opted to relocate all 10 of its neutral-site championship events from North Carolina in response to the state's controversial House Bill 2. More from the Orlando Sentinel.
Aerospace firm lease OK'd for port complex in Titusville
Port Canaveral commissioners on Wednesday unanimously approved a five-year lease with an international aerospace company that hopes to begin operating at the port-owned Titusville Logistics Center as early as January. More from Florida Today.

Does Florida's infrastructure make the grade?
The Sunshine State’s infrastructure received a C average from the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Florida section for 2016. However, Florida did do better than the U.S., which got a D+ average.

SeaWorld unveils major new attractions for 2017
New attractions will be coming to Sea World Orlando and Busch Gardens in Tampa in 2017. They include a virtual reality experience in Orlando and a Wildlife Docs™ Live show for Busch Gardens.
