Florida businesses up in arms about 14.5 percent worker comp rate hike

The long-awaited order by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation trimmed a proposal that called for increasing rates 19.6 percent. Nevertheless, business groups immediately warned that a 14.5 percent increase would hurt employers. The revised rate increase would become effective December 1, 2016 for new and renewal business, with no change in rates for current in-force policies. See the full news release from FOIR, here.
