Florida citrus acreage lowest in history

Florida citrus acreage has fallen to its lowest level in nearly three generations. On Sept. 12, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported the Sunshine State’s citrus acreage declined to 480,121 acres for 2015-16, the lowest since the agency began surveying acreage in 1966. Home-grown cases of Zika rise to 64 in Florida

The Florida Department of Health has announced eight new non-travel related cases of the Zika virus in the state. Two of the individuals were identified within the Wynwood area of Miami, and two others were associated with the Miami Beach area. More from WBBH.
