National Institutes of Health Funding
In 2006, the largest NIH awards to private, non-university, non-state funded institutions in Florida were:
- $11.01 million: Jaeb Center for Health Research in Tampa, a free-standing non-profit that coordinates clinical trials and research into eye diseases and diabetes
- $9.73 million: Mayo Clinic Jacksonville
- $1.5 million: Altor Bioscience in Miramar, a venture-backed clinical stage biopharmaceutical company
- In 2015, the largest NIH awards to private, non-university, non-state funded institutions in Florida were:
- $35.90 million: Scripps Florida
- $22.45 million: Mayo Clinic Jacksonville
- $11.3 million: Jaeb Center for Health Research
- $3.92 million: Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville
