Why student debt in Florida is lower than most states

College students in Florida who take out student loans graduate with less debt on average than students in most U.S. states, according to a new study from LendEDU. Florida ranked 43rd out of 50 states for the amount of debt per student borrower in the class of 2015, with borrowers owing an average of $24,181. The #1 state on this list is Connecticut, where students borrow, on average, $36,865. More from the Miami Herald.

Florida’s housing market had more new listings, higher median prices and fewer days to a sales contract during the second quarter of 2016, according to the Florida Realtors.
