Florida may have nation's first local transmission of Zika

Florida health officials said Tuesday they were investigating a possible case of Zika that wasn't carried back by a traveler. The investigation is being conducted in Miami-Dade county by members of the Florida Department of Health in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control. If a native case is confirmed, it would be the first evidence that Zika has spread to mosquitoes in the continental U.S. Full news release from the Florida Department of Health is here and includes tips for prevention. The business, “a supplier of superior rare-earth valuables,” according to a statement, is on track to receive the $450,000 through the Qualified Targeted Industry Tax Refund.
