Unregulated stem-cell clinics are proliferating in Florida

For years, American "stem-cell tourists" have flocked to unregulated clinics in Mexico, the Caribbean and China in search of everything from heart treatments to facelifts. But now, these kinds of clinics are popping up across the United States and concentrated in a few states, including Florida. More from the Washington Post, Health Day, and Tech Times.

Universal submits plans for sixth hotel

Universal has contemplated another hotel in that area for at least a couple of years. In 2014, it submitted documents to the Orange County Comptroller's Office showing plans for a fifth, sixth and seventh hotel at the resort. Sapphire Falls will be the fifth. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

Tesla's autopilot probed after crash kills Florida driver

The first self-driving car fatality in the U.S. took place when the driver of a Tesla S sports car using the vehicle’s “autopilot” automated driving system died in a collision with a truck in Florida, federal officials said. More from the AP and WWSB.

United Launch Alliance eliminates 350 jobs, including in Florida

Launch services provider United Launch Alliance said June 30 it has eliminated 350 jobs, reducing its workforce by more than 10 percent. ULA, the Boeing-Lockheed Martin joint venture that builds and operates the Atlas 5 and Delta 4 rockets,employed roughly 3,400 people throughout the United States prior to the job cuts. Space News.
