Agriculture education on the rise in Florida

You hear a lot of bad news about Florida's agriculture industry including competition from foreign markets, labor shortages, and most seriously, citrus greening. But surprisingly, young people aren't shying away from agriculture education in their schools. In fact, participation is at record highs. More from WUSF News.

Cuban TV programming to be broadcast in U.S.

Why isn’t Lee’s most affordable housing market booming?

A tribute to a friend

florida I met Cliff Hinkle when we were classmates in the Leadership Florida program nearly 20 years ago, but Florida had Cliff as a friend long before I did. Cliff suffered from early onset Alzheimer’s disease in his 50s. There could have been no crueler diagnosis for people as smart and vital as Cliff. But he left behind some vital lessons for us all.

Broward to host major boxing convention

cameras Professional boxing will take center stage later this year when the World Boxing Council brings its 54th annual convention to Broward County. The event — set for Dec. 11-17 at the Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood — is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees.
