Florida leaders raise questions about shooter’s access to guns

As their community reeled from the unimaginable bloodshed of a lone gunman, local elected leaders gingerly addressed this question: Do laws need to change to prevent this from happening again? “We have an ongoing debate about gun ownership in this country and we’re trying to prevent mental illness,” said Rep. Mike Miller, R-Orlando, whose district office is less than a mile from the Pulse nightclub. “We’ve got to put something in [the law] where we figure out if someone is having mental health issues” before they can obtain a gun. City of Oviedo sued over 2000 percent water bill hike

The city of Oviedo is facing a federal lawsuit over hiking portions of the water bill at an affordable housing complex by 2000 percent. The Oviedo Town Centre complex and its owners filed suit Thursday, alleging that the city changed its policies in 2012 to charge per apartment unit, rather than per meter.
