Gov. Scott puts conditions on use of state money at Citrus Department

Florida Department of Citrus officials have learned the $7.65 million of state general revenue it will get in the new 2016-17 budget comes with strings attached. In a letter from Gov. Rick Scott to the Chairman of the Florida Citrus Commission, Scott sets forth a 3-step accountability program to the Commission, including identifying tax relief for the citrus industry, and how they should use state money for marketing and promotion first. South Florida a hotspot for women-owned firms
