Florida adds private-sector jobs in March
Florida added 18,600 private-sector jobs in March, a fairly strong performance but down about 8 percent from February. Dominating the jobs added in March was the trade, transportation and utilities sector — with 4,400 — and construction, which added 2,600. Number of women-owned businesses growing at highest pace since the recession
Women are now the majority owners of 38% of the country's businesses, employing nearly 9 million people and generating more than $1.6 trillion in revenue.
The sixth annual State of Women-Owned Businesses Report finds more than 1,000 women-owned businesses are formed each day. Plus, the number of firms owned by women of color more than doubled over past nine years.
