U.S. economy grew at a better pace than expected

The U.S. economy grew at a faster pace over the summer than initially estimated, a positive sign that could help convince Federal Reserve policymakers to raise a key interest rate next month. More from the L.A. Times , the New York Times, USA Today, and Money.

Florida job growth favorable compared to other states, though income still lags

As state economic recoveries go, Florida's is rebounding well. Just not as robust as some states are doing these days. Still, there are largely good job-related numbers to report for the Sunshine State versus other states. More at the Tampa Bay Times.

Transportation costs drop in last year, BLS says

The transportation category takes into account changes in airfare, new vehicle prices and insurance rates, along with gasoline prices. But as transportation has dipped, other categories have increased. More at the Orlando Sentinel.

Everyone loves same-day delivery, until they have to pay

This year, Amazon has been making an aggressive push to offer same-day delivery to people who've paid its $99 fee for Prime loyalty club membership. That service is now available in 23 metro areas. And where Amazon goes, other retailers must follow. More at the AP.

Students learn how to use simulation for education

Mid Florida Tech this year has created a program at a facility called Launch Site that will train high-school students and graduates as entry-level technicians for simulation companies. More at the Orlando Sentinel.
