FDOT to study expanding use of breakdown lanes for buses

The Florida Department of Transportation is considering allowing buses to bypass congestion by driving along the shoulder of I-275 in Pinellas County. Though it seems like an off-beat concept, it's been used in Miami already. FDOT is conducting a study to evaluate whether Pinellas roadways would be a good fit. "It's not an ideal solution, but it's a relatively low-cost transportation option that enhances travel time competitiveness," Whit Blanton said. "It makes bus service more competitive with auto." The end of political polling?

Is polling's place in politics coming to an end? There are reasons to believe so. The list of problems wth polls is long. Fewer and fewer people have landlines, and buying lists of cellphone numbers by geographic area is expensive. Getting people to answer the phone and stay on the line to answer questions is increasingly difficult. As a result, election polls have become less accurate, more expensive and harder to gauge public opinion.[Source: Governing]
