Miami-Dade Players - June 2011

» Jim Cason, a retired U.S. Foreign Service officer, unseated Coral Gables Mayor Don Slesnick in a close three-way race. Slesnick had been mayor since 2001.

» Alina Hudak replaced Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess, who resigned shortly after Mayor Carlos Alvarez was recalled. Hudak, who had been an assistant county manager, is Miami-Dade's first female county manager.

» Burson-Marsteller appointed Ramiro Prudencio CEO for Latin America and promoted former Latin America CEO Santiago Hinojosa to chairman for the region.

» Henry Lewis III became president of Florida Memorial University, a post that had been vacant since 2009. Lewis had been dean of Florida A&M's College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
