Economist predicts hits will keep coming for Florida's economy

Florida’s economy continues to improve with numbers that outshine the nation as a whole, a rise that University of Central Florida economist Sean Snaith predicts will continue to climb. Housing prices are up, payroll is up and real gross state product will continue to climb, Snaith says in his quarterly forecast for Florida’s economy through 2018. FIU to examine substance use in youths as part of national landmark study on brain development

The National Institutes of Health has awarded FIU $12.7 million as part of a multi-year national landmark study on substance use and adolescent brain development. The award, for the first five-year cycle of the research study, is the single largest NIH award ever received by FIU faculty. Full story from FIU News is here.
