Florida firms see sales soar from Paris Air Show

Florida aviation and defense companies made $151 million in export sales at the Paris Air Show last month, according to a news release from the office of Gov. Rick Scott. Scott said the industry would create 350 new jobs in Florida. More at the Orlando Business Journal and the Miami Herald.

Divers dive in as miniseason opens in South Florida

The 2015 lobster miniseason officially began 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, but most of the thousands of snorkelers and divers who will be on the hunt for the next two days did not get onto the waters of South Florida and the Keys until sun-up. Tresure Hunters Find Gold

gold coins A family of treasure hunters has found booty worth an estimated $1 million from an 18th century Spanish shipwreck off Florida, the company that hired them said Tuesday. The find includes 51 gold coins, 12 meters (40 feet) of ornate gold chain and a single coin called a Royal that was made for then King Felipe V.
