Florida lawmakers reach late night deal on budget

Aided by a last-minute infusion of cash that went to projects backed by the state's Republican leaders, Florida legislators late Monday night reached a deal on a nearly $80 billion budget for the state. More from the AP, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, and Reuters.

Space Florida approves shuttle landing facility deal

NASA's historic space shuttle landing facility at Kennedy Space Center will be managed by the state of Florida for the next 30 years. The Space Florida board approved a long-term, rent-free deal to lease the 15,000-foot-long landing strip that had been used to land space shuttles. The agreement will be signed on June 22.
